The world’s largest lesson – carpe diem!

Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world” ……Nelson Mandela

A unique learning opportunity occurs starting week of September 18.

It would be remiss of me, and negligent of us all, not to be aware of the potential outcomes of promoting and connecting our learning communities to this – the “World’s Largest Lesson” – as schools around the globe participate and challenge young people to consider what they can do to help in their own way, in their own classrooms and schools, and with similar groups around the world.

This “lesson” is a path to  The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals that were agreed by world leaders in September 2015.

So why not find time this week to share this website and watch this video?

Watch and reflect on it in classrooms, in faculty offices, with students, and colleagues, teaching peers, leadership teams, and parents.

Do so in faculty meetings, grade level groups, homerooms, coffee breaks, assemblies, wherever and whenever your think it’s appropriate to do so.

Then move through the CAS stages for service learning : investigate, prepare, act, reflect, and demonstrate – “seize the day!”
